Welcome to GESI!
Moving beyond traditional study abroad and “poverty tourism” programs, GESI provides opportunities in collaborative experiential learning—opportunities that build global leaders while contributing to the sustainable development of communities in which our students work and learn.
The Global Engagement Studies Institute (GESI) has brought together more than 275 students from over 50 colleges and universities around the country to learn from and work with communities in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, India, Nicaragua, South Africa, and Uganda.
These sites are run by our on-the-ground partners and offer students the opportunity to address issues such as health, education, environment, youth, women’s empowerment, social enterprise development, and microfinance.
If you are looking for a program where you learn by doing and are ready to get your hands dirty in the pursuit of global social change, GESI is for you.
